Awards and rankings in 2010

HSBC has been widely awarded across its corporate sustainability programmes over the years. Some key and recent ones are:

Footprint Management

"The Best for Green Brand" award organised by Take me Home weekly magazine. The Award winners were selected by a panel of judges including environmental NGOs and voting by some 60,000 readers, which account for 20% and 80% of the final score respectively.
HSBC has been awarded U Green Awards 2009 in the banking and financial institution category organised by the U Magazine, recognising the Bank's outstanding environmental performance and contributions to the local community.

Community Investment

Caring Company Award since 2002. Outstanding Partnership Award 2009/10 under the Caring Company Scheme from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for the "HKCSS-HSBC Social Enterprise Business Centre" which provides support to social enterprises.
Awarded Community Chest's Top Donor for eleven years having contributed about HK$9.8 million in the 2010/11 campaign year.
Won the Top Donor Award for the Community Chest Dress Special Day for the 18th consecutive year having contributed more than HK$1.2 million in 2010.
Since 1998, HSBC has won the Champion of the Highest Service Hour Award organised by Social Welfare Department for the seventh time.

Sustainable Business

First financial institution to win the Yahoo! Emotive Brand Awards 2009-10 in the Brand with Corporate Conscience & Social Responsibility category which was voted by two million internet users of Yahoo!.
Capital Weekly's first Corporate Social Responsibility Award in recognition of the bank's outstanding efforts in integrating sustainability into business.

Sustainability rankings

Selected as a constituent stock of the newly launched Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index which is first of its kind in Hong Kong covering 30 Hong Kong listed and Mainland listed companies with outstanding corporate sustainability performance. More
Ranked first in the Hang Seng Index (HSI) Listed Companies CSR Survey 2009 and 2008, commissioned by Oxfam Hong Kong and conducted by an agency CSR Asia. More
